As of May 26, 2024, IBDoc® is CE-marked as self-test and near-patient test under the new In Vitro Diagnostic Regulation (IVDR) regulation, taking the fecal calprotectin home test to new standards and improving the overall trust on our product.
In addition, the software was completely redesigned and deployed in a recent update. This update brings significant improvements to both the IBDoc® app and Portal software, with a focus on delivering a smoother and more user-friendly experience. The update includes a modern redesign of the app interface and enhanced features, while maintaining the familiar test procedure.
IBDoc® is now IVDR approved!
BÜHLMANN is pleased to announce that since May 26, 2024, IBDoc® has achieved certification under the In Vitro Diagnostic Regulation (IVDR) as Class C for self-testing and near-patient testing. This milestone marks IBDoc® as the first fecal calprotectin home test to meet the rigorous standards of this new regulation. The IVDR certification affirms BÜHLMANN‘s commitment to provide safe, accurate, and qualitative products to patients and healthcare professionals. This will enhance confidence among users in the accuracy of smartphone-generated test results and increase the usage of modern tools for monitoring Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) patients.

Enhanced Home Page: Once logged in, you’ll encounter a refreshed home page. It prominently features a “Start Test” button for easy navigation through tutorial pages. Additionally, quick access to tutorial videos and Instruction for Use simplifies your experience.
Intuitive Navigation: The app now features a user-friendly bottom-placed menu for effortless navigation. Accessing your result history and profile page is now just a tap away.
Timely Reminders: A 2-24 hour skippable timer has been introduced into the test workflow. This reminder ensures the CALEX® Valve stands untouched for a minimum of 2 hours. Notifications will prompt you at the 2-hour and 23-hour marks to ensure test continuity.
Streamlined Result History: Your result history showcases the five latest outcomes. Additionally, the app now downloads older test results from the IBDoc® Portal, even if they were conducted on a different smartphone.
Enhanced Profile Page: Gain greater control with a feature-rich profile page. Manage personal information, tailor notification preferences, and even create private notes stored exclusively on your smartphone.
Added Security for Clinical Users: Clinical users will establish a unique PIN number linked to their phone and account, bolstering patient data security in potential cases of device loss or theft.
IBDoc® Portal Version 4: A Fresh Interface
The transformation extends beyond the IBDoc® app. Version 4 of the IBDoc® Portal introduces a rejuvenated interface while preserving the familiar workflows you rely on. This upgrade prioritizes responsiveness and user-friendliness, offering a seamless experience that you can count on.
